Joyce Allen

Joyce Allen, 79, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, in Mountain Home, AR. Joyce was born on December 7, 1943, in Memphis, TN, to James and Juanita Bickerstaff Westmoreland. After high school she went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from Memphis State University. She married Jere Allen on May 23, 1974 in Marion, AR and spent 49 wonderful years together. She started her career working for a law firm in Memphis, TN for several years. Joyce went on to own Allen's Floral Shop for 15 years, and being a florist was her passion. The couple retired to Mountain Home, AR in 2007 after visiting on vacation. Joyce was a member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church. She loved entertaining friends and family.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Jere Allen of Mountain Home, AR; step-son, Michael Allen of Southaven, MS; grandchildren, Michael Allen, Jr., Megan Allen, and Chris Allen; and great-grandchildren, Vivian K. Allen, Scarlet Ann Allen, and Ava Marie Allen.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with a time of sharing at 2:00 pm.
