A Funeral Service for Juanita Lavon Sandlin of Horatio, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Monday, March 23, 2015, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Steve Martin officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 22, 2015, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Juanita passed away March 19, 2015, in Horatio, Arkansas, at the age of 86. She was born August 8, 1928, in Cotter, Arkansas, the daughter of James and Iva Jewell Wardlow Barnett. She married Elvin Sandlin on January 21, 1967, at Houston, Texas, and was a secretary for Brown & Root. Juanita lived in Arkansas, since moving from Houston, Texas, in 1980. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Juanita is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Carter of Clinton, AR; two granddaughters, Cynthia Pickett of Horatio, AR, and Candace Wilson of Cabot, AR, six great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Iva Barnett; husband, Elvin Sandlin; daughter, Deborah Butters; brother, Glen Barnett; and two sisters, Marguerite Halsell Louise Scott.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
