A Graveside Service for Katherine "Kitty" Louise Elliott of Salesville, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.
Kitty passed away February 11, 2014, in Gassville, Arkansas at the age of 92. She was born October 29, 1921, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas and Jessica Newdecker Griffin. She married Donald Elliott on October 20, 1946, at Danville, Illinois. Kitty and Don owned and operated Sunaco Travel Mart near Oakwood, Illinois. Kitty lived in Salesville since moving from Oakwood, Illinois, in 1978. She was an active member of the UAW and Democrat Club. She enjoyed making jewelry, painting, fishing, and traveling.
Kitty is survived by her son, Phillip (Alice) Elliott of Acapulco; daughter, Glenda (Bob) Layden of Hoopeston, IL; four grandchildren, Glenn Vines, and Gregg, Cheri, and Steve Elliott; five great-grandchildren, Carly Vines and Steve, Michael, Austin, and Brandon Elliott; two brothers, Thomas and Joe Griffin; and a sister, Vivian Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Pat and William; and three sisters, Frances, Ellen, and Claire.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of choice.
