Katherine Powell

Katherine Powell died Friday, February 1, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 76. Katherine Powell was born Sunday, January 3, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Lubke) Botts. She married Victor Schroeder on January 30, 1955, they were married for 30 years. She worked as a cook at Nelson Wilkes Elementary School for 20 years continuing to work as a substitute for the school district until her death. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she volunteered her time in the food pantry and cooking on Wednesday nights. She was a great mother and grandmother. Katherine lived in Mountain Home for 37 years moving from Chicago, Illinois. Survivors: son Nicholas Schroeder and wife Rachel, granddaughters; Nicole, Sommer and Cheryl Schroeder, great grandchildren; Cheriakee, Victor and Clowey Schroeder and Lekai Wilson and Lashae Brakebill, sisters; Margaret Dobies and Loretta Kwiatkowski, brothers; Paul and Douglas Botts and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: her parents Paul and Dorothy Botts, her husband Victor Schroeder, brothers Fred and Kenneth Botts, sisters Dorothy Sperka Long and Charlotte Gifford Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Tuesday, February 5 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Funeral Services for Katherine L. Powell of Mountain Home, AR, will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Kenneth Taglauer officiating.
