A Funeral Service for Kathleen A. Herzing of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, February 16, 2015, at the Belvidere Funeral Home Chapel, Belvidere, Illinois with Pastor Nord Swanstrom officiating. Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2015, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Kathleen passed away February 10, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 71. She was born February 12, 1943, in Belvidere, Illinois, the daughter of Melvin "Stub" and Esther "Dolly" Wenske Coots. She married Cecil Herzing on June 1, 1971, at Las Vegas, Nevada and worked as a manager in Industrial Chemicals for Hewlett Packard in addition, she worked with environmental litigation attorneys and was a first responder for HAZMAT. Kathleen lived in Mountain Home since November 2003, moving from California. She enjoyed her grandchildren and family, visiting Tunica and Las Vegas, knitting, reading, cooking and card games.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Cecil Herzing of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Sandy Ramey of Madera, CA; son, Scott (Carol) Vance of Mountain Home, AR; four grandchildren, Candice Vance of Mountain Home, AR, Nick Ramey of Fresno, CA, Melissa Ramey of Oakhurst, CA and Savannah "Savy" Vance of Mountain Home, AR; three great-grandchildren, Avaeh and Maylea Sims of Mountain Home, AR and Logan Ramey of Fresno, CA; sister, Phillis (Gene) Herzing of Citrus Heights, CA; brother, Clare (Roxy) Coots of Belvidere, IL; sister, MaryAlice "Sam" (Chris) Larson of Rockford, IL and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Melvin "Sonny" Coots; grandson, Branden Ramey and nephew, Rafferty "RJ" Herzing.
Burial will be in the Belvidere Cemetery, Belvidere, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the Donald W. Reynolds Baxter County Library, 300 Library Hill, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
