Kay Rose Sims, 86, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away on October 1, 2021, in Mountain Home. She was born February 11, 1935, in Ashburn, Georgia, the daughter of Charles A. and Louise McNair Rose. She married William Loyd Sims on June 24, 1955, in Ashburn, Georgia. Kay lived in Mountain Home since moving from Harrison, in 1979. She was a graduate of the University of Texas and a teacher for the Mountain Home School District for 40 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 202 . She enjoyed tennis, baking and volunteering in the community, including Baxter Regional Medical Center and Arkansas State University - Mountain Home. Kay is survived by her two daughters, Katheryn (son-in-law, Roger) Haverland of Round Rock, TX, and Karen (son-in-law, Robert) James of Tampa, FL; son, William M. (fiancé, Melissa Tabor) Sims of Mountain Home, AR; four grandchildren, William Haverland, Christopher Haverland, Destin Lamb, and William C. Sims; and one great-grandson, William Lincoln Sims. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lloyd Sims; parents; brother, Charles Alvin Rose; and sister, Hilda Walker.
A Graveside Memorial Service will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery Open-Air Chapel, on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 4:00 pm, with Brother Bill Hughes officiating.
