Kenneth Darnell

Kenneth G. Darnell was born December 26, 1917 at Roanoke, Illinois to William G. and Litta Cox Darnell. He was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II. He married Anne DeLong on October 28, 1972 in Eureka, Illinois. Kenneth was a member of the Bricklayers Union in Peoria since 1945 and also worked for the Eureka, Illinois school system for 10 years. He had lived in the Mountain Home area since 1982, moving from Eureka, Illinois. Kenneth was a member of the Elks Lodge #1714 and Twin Lakes Golf Association. He died October 7, 2007 at Mountain Home at the age of 89. Survivors: Kenneth is survived by his wife, Anne Darnell of Mountain Home;; three daughters, Barbara Vandiver, of Bloomington, Illinois, Patricia Casey of East Peoria, Illinois, Joanne Ashbaugh of Sarasota, Florida; one step-son, Darel R. (Cheryl) DeLong of Normal, Illinois; 1 daughter-in-law, Deborah DeLong of Omaha, Nebraska;10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 step-son, Donald DeLong and 4 sisters. Funeral: A Memorial service for Kenneth G. Darnell of Mountain Home will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Hospice House.
