Kenneth Halkens

Kenneth Melvin Halkens was born April 12, 1928 at Wausa, Nebraska the son of Arthur A. Halkens and Cecilia Fiziedenbach Halkens. He married June Mackie at Mountain Home, Arkansas on November 2, 2001 and had been a resident of the Mountain Home area since moving from Muscatine, Iowa in 2002. He had formerly lived in San Pedro and Huntington Beach, California. He was a former Program Manager for the US Department of Navy and attended Mountain Home Bible Church. He enjoyed his grandchildren, gardening and his tractor. He died October 14, 2007 at Hospice House at the age of 79. Survivors: Wife, June Halkens of Mountain Home; 1 Son,David John (Elaine) Halkens of Dove Canyon, California; 1 Daughter, Sharon (Lee) Madsen of Bull Valley, Illinois; 5 Grandchildren, Kristy Graves, David Whaley, Robert Halkens, Renee Whaley and Jason Madsen; 3 Great Grandchildren, Haley Halkens, Jayden Graves and Delaney Whaley; 1 Sister, Lylia (Joe) Mongini of Lake Montezuma, Arizona; 1 Daughter-In-Law, Susie Schade of Mission Viejo, California Preceded in Death by: Parents and 1st wife, Geri Funeral: October 20, 2007; 10:00 AM; Kirby and Family Funeral Home chapel with David Luth officiating.
