Kenneth W. Ifland

Funeral Services for Kenneth William Ifland, 76, will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Twin Lakes Baptist Church with Dr. Samuel Bailey officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service.

Ken passed away at his home on November 23rd and now resides in heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ken was born in Wasco, California on March 16, 1937, as the sixth of eight children born to Henry Lloyd and Anna Esther (Penner) Ifland. He married W. Joan (Weaver) Ifland on November 9, 1955. Besides his wife of 58 years, he is survived by: sons Kenneth Gregory Ifland (Juli), Mountain Home, AR; Rick William Ifland (Neile), Versailles, KY; Douglas Scott Ifland (Arlene), Mountain Home, AR; Stanley Bryan Ifland (Misha), Bentonville, AR; and daughter Lori Lynn Winans (Josh), Aptos, CA. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: Dani Upton (Scott), Kirby Ifland (Christa), Travis Ifland, Taylor Ifland, USMC PFC Cole Ifland, Crawford Ifland, Hunter Ifland, Sybella Ifland, Jacob Winans, Ethan Winans, Brianna Ifland, Katelyn Winans and Timothy Ifland plus two great-grandchildren: Ephraim Upton and Georgianna Upton. He is also survived by: brothers Glen Ifland and Richard Ifland; and sisters Ann Carle, Eleanore Babb and Ella Mae Fuqua. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother Donald; and his sister Velma.

Ken was raised in Santa Cruz, California, graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1955 and soon thereafter married his High School sweetheart. After four years of honorable service in the Air Force, where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant, he and Joan settled in Santa Cruz to raise their family. He worked for Carle Electric as an electrician and for Ifland Engineers, Inc. as a land surveyor before retiring to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1992. For 21 years it was his privilege to faithfully serve the people and ministry at Twin Lakes Baptist Church.

Burial with Military Honors provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guard will be held at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Scott Upton, Kirby, Travis, Taylor, Crawford and Hunter Ifland. Honorary pallbearers will be Cole and Timothy Ifland, Jacob and Ethan Winans, and Ephraim Upton.
