L.C. Rea died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 74. L. C. Rea was born Tuesday, June 20, 1933 in Oakland, Arkansas, the son of John Curtis Rea, Sr. and Millie Hawkins. He worked as a Security Guard and was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea. L. C. lived in Oakland since 2000 moving from Wichita, Kansas. He worked on cars and lawnmowers, loved fishing, animals and tractor & truck pulls. Survivors: L. C. Rea is survived by 2 sons, Rick Rea of Oakland, AR and Rex (LaVonda) Rea of Norfork, AR, 3 sisters, Fern Sisney of Warrensburg, MO, Barbara Sisney of Oakland, AR and Jerri Ann (Buck) Sewell of Wichita, KS, niece, Chris (Bill) Johnson of Gassville, AR, 3 grandchildren, Monica (Sammie) Shields, Samantha (John) Kidd and Tracy Featherby, 4 great-grandchildren, Marlee, Alyssa, Reagan and Dallas, step-daughter, Elaine Briley of Wichita, KS, great neices, Amanda and Sarah and several other nieces, nephews, and other family members. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, J.C. Rea and Keith Rea. Funeral: Graveside services for L. C. "Tint" Rea of Oakland, AR, will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Oakland Cemetery, with Pastor Gene Carson officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
