Laura Byrd entered eternal rest Thursday, April 30, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 95. She was born Monday, January 26, 1914 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, the daughter of William Clem and Ida Bertie Morgan Rice. She married Harlin Theodore Byrd on April 1, 1936 in Baxter Co., Mountain Home, Arkansas and was a homemaker. She lived in Montana for several years but considered herself a lifetime resident of Mountain Home. Survivors: Laura Byrd is survived by her son, Dr. Richard (JoAnn) Byrd, one daughter, Jo Huddleston both of Mountain Home, AR, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Patsy Byrd of Butte Montana. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, Ronald and baby William, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Visitation: Visitation will be from 1-2 PM Sunday, May 3, 2009 prior to service time at the church. Funeral: Funeral services for Laura Eunice Byrd of Mountain Home, AR, will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Mountain Home Church of Christ, with Brother Ken Burton, and Brother Trent Alexander officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Conley Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Children's Homes of Paragould or Morrilton. Honorary Bearers: Hiram Byrd, Jr., Dwight Byrd, Milton Dahlke, D.A. Dahlke, Ron Moore, Arthur Grisham, Jim Turnbo and Jon Huddleston as honorary pallbearers.
