Leatha Maybell Clark was born February 24, 1914 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was the daughter of William and Pearl Bates. She resided in California since 1945. Mrs. Clark was a longtime member of the Eastern Star, San Pablo Chapter #205. She attended Broadway Baptist Church and enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at the San Pablo Senior Center. In her earlier years she was an avid seamstress, gardener and shopper. She loved people and always welcomed company with open arms. She moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas from San Pablo, California in December of 2004, in order to be closer to her extended family. Leatha Maybell Clark passed away at Pine Lane Nursing Home on April 12, 2005, at the age of 91 years, one month and eighteen days. Survivors: Granddaughter, Yvonne Rich (Skip Pence), of Mountain Home, Arkansas; grandson, Michael Worley (Anita), of Yellville, Arkansas; great-granddaughters, Rachel Williams and Alicia Worley; great-great-grandchildren, Brennen and Jordan Williams; brothers, Charles and Lester Bates of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sisters, Merry Jane Bates of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Katie Dennis of Vallejo, California, and Dorthey Avent of San Pablo, California Preceded in Death by: Her parents; husband; one daughter, Venola Worley; one brother, Robert Bates and one sister, Myrtle Spurlin Funeral: Monday, April 18th; 1 p.m. at Wilson and Kratzer Mission Bell Chapel in San Pablo, CA Reverend Palmer Watson will officiate.
