Memorial Services for Leatrice Emogene "Jean" Posey of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Gene McCoy, Minister officiating. She died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at her residence at the age of 83.
Jean was born September 9, 1926 in Little Rock, AR, the daughter of Cecil Lee and Bertha F. Mann Starkey. She married J.W. Posey on May 3, 1947 at Benton, AR and worked as a Exec. Secretary for 50 years. Jean lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1982 moving from Little Rock, AR. She was a member of The Christian Church of Mountain Home, a member Adoniran #604 O.E.S., Twin Lakes Shrine Ladies and Legionettes, Mtn. Home Lady Elks and Elkettes #1714, VFW Auxillary #3246, American Legion Auxillary #52, Woodmen of the World and Red Hat Babes.
Jean is survived by one son - Billy (Sue) Posey of Midway, AR; 2 grandsons - Anthony (Libby) Posey of West Point, NY, Matthew Posey of Little Rock, AR; 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, J.W. Posey.
Memorials may be made to the Christian Church of Mountain Home Building Fund or Hospice of the Ozarks.
