Leffel Holland

Leffel Holland died Thursday, November 6, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 85. He was born Saturday, February 10, 1923 in Lakeview, Arkansas, son of Frank and Sarah Fowler Holland. He married Ruby Mae Baker on December 15, 1945 at Chester, Ohio. He was self-employed owning a landscape business in Van Nuys, California. Mr. Holland was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He returned to Mountain Home in 1990 moving from Hemmett, California. He was a former member of the Ozark Mountain Boys and loved to play his guitar and enjoyed gardening. Survivors: Mr. Holland is survived by his son, Donald L. (Marie) Holland of King George, VA, daughter, Annette (Russ) Wheeler of Peoria, AZ, 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and cousin, Laura Blair of Salem, AR. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruby Mae Holland, 1 brother, and 1 sister. Funeral: Memorial Services for Leffel Thirl "Red" Holland of Mountain Home, AR, will be 11:00 am Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Louis Stephens officiating.
