A Memorial Service for Leland Emerson Eddy of Flippin, Arkansas will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Flippin Christian Church with Reverend Johnny Ray Lake officiating. Burial will be at the East Lawn Cemetery in Mexico, Missouri, Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Leland Eddy passed away September 18, 2013, in Little Rock, Arkansas at the Veterans Hospital. He was 89 years old.
Leland was born November 16, 1924, in Mexico, Missouri to George and Cecil Thomas Eddy. He was a carpenter and worked in construction. Leland was a United States Navy veteran serving his country during World War II. He enjoyed traveling in his younger years and continued his love of carpentry by working in his shop and making birdhouses. Leland was a regular visitor to the Marion County Senior Center.
He is survived by daughters, Sharon (Toby) Foster of Flippin, AR, Susan Anne (Doyle) Littleton of Missouri and Mary Lou McClure of Missouri; son, James Richard (Debbie) Eddy of Missouri; brother, Jim (Barb) Eddy of Missouri; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by wives; Margaret, Josephine and Nadine.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
