Leland Truax

Leland "Lee" Mack Truax was born December 22, 1932 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was the son of Frank A. and Ruth M. McEntarffer Truax. He married Dorothy Ruth Russell on April 16, 1955 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mr. Truax served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed as a carman/welder with Burlington Northern Railroad for forty-four years. The Truax family moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas from Lincoln, Nebraska in 1995. Mr. Truax was a member of American Legion Alley-White post #52 and a charter member of the Charles L. Gilliland Korean War Veteran's Association. He enjoyed yardword and gardening and was an avid World War II buff. Mr. Truax was a member of First United Methodist Church. Leland "Lee" Mack Truax passed away at Baxter Regional Medical Center on October 15, 2005, at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 23 days. Survivors: Wife of fifty years, Ruth Truax of Mountain Home, Arkansas; son Mark Daniel Truax of Portland, Oregon; two daughters, Toni (Richard) Earl of Tecumseh, Nebraska and Lisa (Michael) Rhoades of Fort Collins, Colorado; three brothers, Jack, Frank, and Wiliam Truax, all of Lincoln, Nebraska and several nieces and nephews Preceded in Death by: His parents and one brother Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2005, at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverand Randy Ludwig officiating. Military honors will be provided by the North Central Arkansas Veteran's Council and honor guard by Alley-White American Legion post #52. Refreshments will be provided at First United Methodist Church following the service.
