Leonard "Len" Kieltyka of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away October 4, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86. He was born June 4, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Stanley and Helen Hejner Kieltyka. He married Joyce Kainrath, the love of his life, on June 18, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois. His service to his country as a U.S. Army veteran marked the beginning of a life dedicated to public service. Following his military career, he attended the Police Academy and devoted 23 years to the Calumet City, Illinois Police Department, retiring as Captain and Chief of Police. For the past 28 years, Len called Mountain Home, Arkansas his home after moving from Illinois. He was passionate about his hobbies and participated in the Wood Carvers Club and Gun Club. Len also enjoyed fishing, stained glass art, and playing pool. His faith played a significant role in his life, and he was a devoted member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
Len is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Kieltyka of Mountain Home, AR; daughters, Lorri (Mark) Hart of Seminole, FL, and Lisa (Steve) Belli of Simpsonville, SC; sisters, Joyce (Rich) Przybyslawski, and Diane (Jay) Stanwich; sister-in-law, Gerry Kainrath; grandchildren, William, Joshua, Christopher, Zachary, and Connor; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Mike Kainrath.
A Funeral Mass for Leonard will be 10:00 am, Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Father Norbert Rappold officiating. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and the United States Army Honor Guards, as well as his son-in-law, Mark.
