LeRoy Gries

Roy died Sunday, December 7, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 71. He was born Saturday, September 4, 1937 in Hay Brook, Minnesota, the son of Harold John and Georgia Irene Zortman Gries. He married Sharlene Fischbeck on July 18, 1984 at Salt Lake City, Utah and worked 37 1/2 years as an Oil Production Supervisor for Conoco in Wyoming, Dubai, Jakarta and Singapore and served in the National Guard. Roy lived in Mountain Home since 1993 moving from Williston, North Dakota. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Sharlene and son, Kirk (Vicki) Gries of Sequim, WA, daughter, Royalee Watson of Auburn, WA, a step-son, Michael Lansford of Aurora, CO, and step-daughter, Amanda (Billy) Cooley of Mountain Home, AR, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers, Gene (Erica) Gries of Las Vegas, NV, Don (Marge) Gries of Mora, MN, Jack (Jeri) Gries of Westeco, TX and Joe (Judy) Gries of Crosby, MN and sister, Betty (Harold) Jansen of Rapid City, SD. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 daughter, Jaqueline. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Friday, December 12 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Funeral services for Roy Hubert Gries of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 13, 2008 at East Side Baptist Church, with Dr. Mike Shy officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the East Side Baptist Church El Salvadore Mission Fund. Honorary Bearers: Dean Casey, M.C. White, Rod Fischbeck and David Fischbek will be honorary pallbearers. Active Bearers: Gus Schliske, Jim Dutton, John Bohr, Gordon Hodges, Phil Ramey and Elvis McCanless will be pallbearers.
