Funeral services for Leroy Johnson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time.
Leroy died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Mountain Home, at the age of 95. He was born November 30, 1915 in Morris, Illinois, the son of Roy and Gertrude Palmer Johnson. He married Helen G. Myles on June 9, 1993 at Mountain Home. He worked as a plumber and pipefitter for Local #422, Joliet, Illinois. Leroy lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1993 moving from Bourbonais, Illinois.
Leroy is survived by his wife Helen of Mountain Home, AR, 3 sons, Allen Johnson of Joliet, IL, LeRoy Johnson of New Lenox, IL and Gary (Linda) Johnson of Palm Bay, FL; 3 daughters, LeRae Cohenour of Morris, Il, Lana A. Lopez of Tyler, TX and Jeanean (Ed) Thorson of Morris, IL, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Gladys, 1 sister, 1 brother and 4 grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Morris, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
