Leroy Martens

Leroy Charles Martens was born July 23, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Charles and Minnie Papke Martens. He married the late Lida Margaret Speakman on April 27, 1946 in San Francisco, California. He was a manager for Western Electric Telephone Division for thirty-four years. Leroy Charles Martens served with the United States Marines in World War II. He moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1974, from Naperville, Illinois. He loved to golf and was a member of Twin Lakes Golf Club. He was also a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where he was an usher and greeter. Lercy Charles Martens passed away October 1, 2005, at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 8 days. Survivors: One son, Roger (Toni) Martens of Mountain Home, Arkansas; two daughters, Joann (Ronald) Jungels of Naperville, Illinois and Judy (Robert) Chada of Romeoville, Illinois; and five grandchildren Preceded in Death by: His parents, wife, two brothers and three sisters Visitation: Tuesday, October 4, 2005, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kenneth Taglauer officiating Memorials: Hospice of the Ozarks, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653
