Lois Carpenter

A Graveside Service for Helen Lois Carpenter of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, with Reverend Jim Farris officiating. Pallbearers will be Sean Fletcher, Curt Cotter, Chance Cotter, Ryan Fletcher, Camden Cotter and Steven Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hankins, Jimmy Mitchell, Jerry Mooney, Randy Mooney, and Durele Newton.

Lois passed away September 14, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86. She was born May 6, 1929, in Mitchell, Arkansas, the daughter of Elmer Arthur and Ella Smith Mitchell. She met Owen Rhudell Carpenter at a church revival and they married three months later on July 4, 1945 at Calico Rock, Arkansas. Lois worked at Baxter Laboratories, retiring after almost 30 years of service. She lived in Mountain Home for 50 years, moving from Calico Rock, Arkansas. She loved to cook and everyone loved her pies. She enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, shopping, and creating a beautiful home for entertaining loved ones.

Lois is survived by her husband, O.R. Carpenter of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Judy (Roger) Fletcher of Mountain Home, AR; sister, Ercille Mooney of Mountain Home, AR; three grandchildren, Sean (Carey) Fletcher of Flippin, AR, Michelle (Curt) Cotter of Mountain Home, AR and Alyssa (Richie) Minton of Mountain Home, AR, and six great-grandchildren, Emily, Ryan, Chance, Camden, Carsen and Laney; seven nieces and nephews, Bill Hankins of Calico Rock, AR, Jimmy (Kathie) Mitchell of Pineville, AR, Carolyn (Durele) Newton of Gassville, AR, Pamela Beavers of West Plains, MO, Linda (Bob) Davis of Gassville, AR, Jerry (Becky) Mooney of Mountain Home, AR and Randy (Regina) Mooney of Mountain Home, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leslie (Gathel) Mitchell and Fredis (Myrtle) Mitchell; one sister, Velma (Theron) Hankins; brother-in-law, Ervin Mooney; two nieces, Barbara Farris and Ann Webster and niece-in-law, Sue Hankins.

Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Research.

Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
