Lois Rose Lodien, age 88, of St. Anthony, MN, passed away January 31, 2024. Born December 27, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN, she was the eldest of five children born to Samuel and Rose Blaido.
Lois grew up in North East “Nordeast” Minneapolis graduating from Thomas Edison High School. She started working as an office administrator and met Maurice “Morrie” Lodien. The two married June 2, 1956. She and Morrie lived in Columbia Heights with their 3 children until they moved in 1974 to rural Princeton, MN. After the passing of Morrie (2008), Lois moved to Arkansas where she spent 14 years before returning to her “Nordeast” roots in 2023.
Lois was a faithful wife and mother and took pride in her children and grandchildren. She was active and independent. She loved horses, classic cars, road trips, and collectibles. She enjoyed waterskiing, speedskating, golf, snowmobiling, bowling, shooting firearms and even archery.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Maurice, sisters Joyce and Audrey, and grandson Jonathan Lodien. She is survived by her brother Lyle (Pam) Blaido, sister Cheryl Blaido, sons Jeff (Tammy) Lodien and Steve (Jennie) Lodien, daughter Lori Sanborn in addition to 7 grandchildren: Jason (Amy) Sanborn, Jamie (Shane) Sieben, Justine Sanborn, Cassy (Cody) Paasch, Max Lodien, Brooke Foster, Paige (Luke) Leverington, and 7 great-grandchildren: Micah, Morriah, Ashtynn, Aubrey, William, Addy, and Eden.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, February 13, 10:30 am at North Isanti Baptist Church, 2248 313th Ave NE, Cambridge, MN 55008.
