Mr. Lonny J. Swenson, age 62 of Gainsville, Missouri, passed away Sunday March 14, 2010 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Mr. Swenson was born May 2, 1947 in Pipestone, Minn. to Orval and Nellie Zant Swenson.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam war. He was a retired diesel mechanic and had owned his own shop in California. He moved to the Gainsville area in 1999 from Madera, California, and he enjoyed tinkering in cars, gardening, fishing, antiques, and was active in the VFW Post in Gainsville.
Lonny J. Swenson is survived by 2 sons, Troy of Pinole, Calif. and Danny of Clovis, Calif., two sisters, Patty of Minneapolis, Minn. and Faye (Bill) of Middleburg, Fla., a brother, Bert (Joyce) of Pipestone, Minn., 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and 3 siblings, Francis, Orval and Merlye.
Funeral services for Mr. Swenson are private.
