Loren Earl Kenyon

April 10, 1932 — April 3, 2023

Loren Kenyon, age 90 of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away on April 3, 2023. He was born April 10, 1932 in Calamus, Iowa, the son of Earl and Florence Kenyon. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Loren moved to Mountain Home in 1961 with his wife JoAnn and their four children where he owned and operated several Mountain Home businesses over his lifetime. Initially in the resort business, he owned Rocking Chair Ranch Resort for 13 years, growing it from three cabins to a thriving multipurpose destination for families from all over the U.S. Following that, Loren became a land developer and builder where he developed several subdivisions including Kingsberry Estates, Forest Hills and Sunny Slopes, but his favorite passion was growing the Mountain Home area. He was a driving force at trade shows showcasing Mountain Home’s beautiful lakes, rivers and mountain landscapes. Loren had a kind soul and never hesitated to help out friends and neighbors. His door was always open to anyone who wanted a cup of coffee as he never knew a stranger. Loren was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also the best card player any of us ever knew.

Loren is survived by their four children, Mark (Teresa) Kenyon of Mountain Home, AR, Kim (Tom) White of Hendersonville, TN, Tamara (Mike) Crawley of Hendersonville, TN and Terry (Rhonda) Kenyon of Mountain Home, AR; eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth Scheer, Taylor Crawley, Justin Crawley, Clayton (Madeline) Crawley, Brooke Kenyon, Zach (Amanda) Kenyon, Steven (Mary) White, Ben (Thea) Bullock, Brian (Audrey) Bullock, Russell Legg, Matthew (Stefanie) Legg; and twelve great-grandchildren, Noah, Isabella, Olivia, Jacob, Tanner, Megan, Mason, Sammie, Alex, Evan and Cory. Your absence leaves a hole we cannot fill, but God has welcomed you home.

Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, AR.
