Loretta Ann Brown, 79, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, in Memphis, Tennessee. Loretta was born on February 8, 1944, in Hume, Illinois, to James and June Dowler Sigler. She married Ross Brown on September 16, 1985 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She was a nurse's aide, working for the Burnham City Hospital in Champaign, Illinois, the Carle Clinic in Urbana, Illinois, and the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. Ross and Loretta were very involved in coaching the developmentally challenged athletes of Mountain Home. Since 1986, they coached them in softball, basketball, field and track and continued to coach them in bowling at Riverlake Bowling Lanes. They received the Governor’s “Silent Angel” award for their volunteer work. Ross and Loretta coached a youth bowling league at Riverlake Lanes since 1986. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the V.F.W. Post 3246.

Loretta is survived by her husband, Ross Brown; two sons, Terry (Miranda) Strode, and Gary (Stacey) Strode; daughter, Tina Strode; three brothers, Marty (Penny) Sigler, John (Linda) Sigler, and Jim (Alisha) Sigler; two sisters, Sharon (Chuck) Hallett, and Marie (Allan) Taylor; six grandchildren, Saben, Kaden, Keean, Adrianna, Hannah, and Kennedy; and a step-granddaughter, Micah.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial donations may be made in Loretta's name to the Arkansas Special Olympics Foundation.
