Lorraine Hicks

Lorraine Frances Hicks, formerly of Gassville, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on February 10, 2025, in Maryville, Illinois, at the age of 90. Born on March 22, 1934, in Camden, New Jersey, Lorraine was the daughter of Arthur and Ruth Sowden Smalley. On April 30, 1960, Lorraine married William Hicks in Colton, California, and later relocated to Arkansas in 1997 from Glen Carbon, Illinois. Lorraine was a member of the Gassville Baptist Church and found joy in crocheting, quilting, and watching classic movies. In 2023, she moved to Maryville to be closer to her family.

Lorraine is remembered by her son, Glenn (Mary) Tenney of Bessmer, MI; her daughters, Vivian (Gary) Barker of Collinsville, IL, and Joanne (Richard) Tenney of Escondido, CA; along with six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren who will carry her legacy forward.

She is reunited in spirit with her parents, Arthur Wrigley Smalley and Ruth Smalley, her beloved husband, William Eugene Hicks, and her sister, Linda Collins.

A visitation will take place at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday, February 15, 2025. beginning at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am, officiated by Reverend Gary Wise. Lorraine will be laid to rest beside William in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
