Lyndle Earl McCurley of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away May 30, 2024, in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 85. He was born March 2, 1939, in Gorby, Arkansas, the son of Lloyd Earl "Red" and Bertha Sartin McCurley. He married Deborah Crews on November 22, 1967, in Dothan, Alabama. Lyndle graduated from Calico Rock High School and after completing his Master's Degree in Science of Education at Arkansas State University, he continued post master's work in the area of Education Administration. After working in various colleges coaching basketball, golf and other sports and school administration positions, Lyndle became Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration at Arkansas State University Mountain Home. As recognition for his dedication to ASU, the newly constructed maintenance building was dedicated to him when he retired. He was a member of and officer of numerous professional organizations. He was a dedicated educator committed to the success and development of the educational systems.
Lyndle is survived by his wife, Deborah Crews McCurley of Mountain Home, AR; son, Lyndle (Heather) McCurley of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Veronica (Billy) Dennis; grandchildren, James Stone, Ashley Stone, Nicholas (Briley) Stone, Ella McCurley, and Lyndle McCurley, III; three great-grandchildren, Aspen McCurley, Deacon Stone, and Josephine Stone; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Andrew Joseph McCurley; and sisters, Irene Crump and Norma Gillihan.
Lyndle was a member of the Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mountain Home. He loved his family, his horses and all the numerous dogs they had thru the years.
Visitation will be Monday, June 10, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service for Lyndle will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, both at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating.
