Macy Parnell

Macy Parnell died Friday, September 19, 2008 in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 78. He was born Wednesday, July 2, 1930 in Norfork, Arkansas, son of Edgar and Hettie Dickerson Parnell. He married Corene Cunningham on August 27, 1950 at Norfork, Arkansas. He worked as a boilermaker/welder for Local 83, Kansas City, MO. Macy was a lifetime resident of Norfork. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and had a great love for travel and living in Arkansas. Survivors: Macy Parnell is survived by his wife, Corene Parnell and 4 daughters, Louise (Ron) Rollins, Kay (Mick) Blackburn, Betty (Steve) Walker, and Nora Hawkins, all of Valley Center, KS, 4 sisters, Nancy Lou (Keith) Southards of Springfield, MO, Alteen Rand of Jordan, AR, Ruby Hargart of Norfork, AR, Pearl (Harvey) Beard of Midway, AR, 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Tuesday, September 23 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Funeral services for Macy Morris Parnell of Norfork, AR, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Tom Stover officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Galatia Cemetery, Norfork, Arkansas Memorials: Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks. Honorary Bearers: James Leo Moore, O.C.
