Margaret Lucille Dowdy of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away April 1, 2021, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 82. She was born May 5, 1938, in Vidette, Arkansas, the daughter of Harley and Mary Morrison Cotter. She married Bill Dowdy on December 21, 1970 in Visalia, CA. She lived in California until 2019 and then came to live in Mountain Home, AR. She was the owner of the Alpaugh Grocery in Alpaugh, CA and was loved by everyone that knew her. She was of the Christian Faith. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, all her family and friends.
Margaret is survived by her three sons, Jody (Dawn) Cotter of Mountain Home, AR, Dennis (Marlyn) Cotter of Rice, MN, and Wesley (Daylene) Cotter of Lamore, CA; nine grandchildren; Ty, Clay, Dean, Harley, Josh, Karisa, Jessica, Bethani, and Chris; nineteen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Virginia Drewry, Betty Drewry both of Corocrn, CA, Opal Sanders of Salem, AR, and Linda Bunch of Murphysboro, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Brownie Wheat; and three brothers, Joe Cotter, J.D. Cotter, and Virgil Cotter.
A Celebration of Life will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ty Cotter officiating. Burial will be in the Flutie Cemetery, Gamaliel, Arkansas. Due to current restrictions, masks are required.
