A Funeral Service for Margie Bryan of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jim Stewart officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service.
Margie passed away January 15, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 89. She was born August 14, 1927, in Searcy, Arkansas, the daughter of Earl and Madge Murphy Armstrong. She married Lloyd Bryan on June 1, 1947, at Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated Cum Laude from Central High School in Little Rock in 1945. At the age of 57, she obtained her registered nurse license and worked at the VA Hospital in North Little Rock until she was 70. She joined the First Baptist Church in Little Rock in August of 1939, after her family moved from Searcy, Arkansas and has one of the oldest memberships in the church, where she served as secretary. She enjoyed scrap booking, doing macramé and spending time with her family. Margie lived in Mountain Home since 2013, moving from Little Rock, Arkansas.
Margie is survived by her husband, Lloyd Bryan of Mountain Home, AR; two sisters, Virginia Stricklin of North Little Rock, AR and Shirley Fagan of Fort Worth, TX; three children, Vicki (Jim) Stewart of Norman, OK, Janet (John) Spencer of Mountain Home, AR and Tom (Becky) Bryan of Bentonville, AR; seven grandchildren, Bryan (Sarah) Stewart, Joy (Matt) Robinson and Brad (Sarah) Stewart all of Norman, OK, Michael (Siobhan) Dickinson of Gulfport, MS, Dr. Jacob (Patty) Dickinson of Mountain Home, AR, Jordan (Kyla) Bryan of Murphy, TX and Jenny (Evan) Cowling of Harrison, AR and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
