Marianne Briggs

October 23, 1939 — March 10, 2021

Marianne Briggs of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away March 10, 2021, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 81. She was born October 23, 1939, in Graettinger, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Marjorie Tibodeau Nurre. She married Ronald Briggs on November 21, 1959, in Algona, Iowa and was a bookkeeper. Marianne lived in Mountain Home since moving from Algona, Iowa, in 1985. She was a member of the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and never saw a casino she didn't like. Marianne had a love for her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The legacy she has left behind includes pillows, blankets, gnomes, scarves, hats, and socks that she crocheted. Her family will cherish these items for years to come and be able to pass them down for generations. Marianne was so loving and accepting, and gave the best hugs. When she hugged you, she really hugged you. Holding on tight like you were so important to her and she wanted you to know it and feel it. She loved cooking and trying new recipes. She also enjoyed spending time with the ladies at Chatting Needles.

Marianne is survived by her husband, Ronald Briggs; three sons, Daniel (Lisa) Briggs, Anthony (Krista) Briggs, and John Briggs; three daughters, Laurie (Rick) Leeper, Shari (Dennis) Salz, and Suzanne (Chris) Hinkle; six brothers, Tom (Kitty) Nurre, Kenny (Wanda) Nurre, Denny Nurre, Clete (Gayle) Nurre, Marty (Irma) Nurre, and Bob (Ellie) Nurre; two sisters, Margaret (Phil) Vaske, and Jeanette (Dale) Thal; sixteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene, Jerry, and Larry Nurre; sister, Maxine Nurre; and son, Nicholas Briggs.
