Marie Kelley

Marie M Kelley, a much-loved grandmother, passed away May 20, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 98. She was born August 15, 1924, in Bee, Nebraska, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Kantor Maixner. She married Oscar B. Kelley on May 12, 1951, in Golden, Colorado. She had served as a teacher and later as an accountant during WWII. Marie lived in Mountain Home since moving from Woodale, Illinois, in 1978. She was a member of the Mountain Home Quilting Club and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

Marie is survived by her granddaughters, Christy Hagerman (David) and Codie Day (Brent); grandson, Corey Hagerman (Jaqueline); and son-in-law, Paul Hagerman (Cheryl). She was also blessed with 8 great-grandchildren: Gavin, Jayden, Bryce, Brody, Jeremiah, Joey, Emma, and Logan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Colleen Hagerman; five brothers, Leonard, Lawrence, Raymond, Joseph, and Roman Lee Maixner; and three sisters, Wilma Savage, Francis Jeske, and Celestine Maixner.

Marie will be remembered for her kindness, independent spirit, and love for her family. She always had a love of reading, walking and spending time with her schnauzer. Her grandkids will always remember her homemade cookies, special dinners and adventures from local shopping trips; to exploring the woods on her property; to cruises along Alaska. We will all cherish a lifetime of special memories and funny stories.

Funeral Services will be private and include a small number of close family members. Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
