A Memorial Service for Marilou Balogh of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, September 18, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Mike Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Marilou passed away September 14, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 90. She was born September 11, 1927, in Browns, Illinois, the daughter of Lewis and Wilma Berry Buckles. She married Joseph Balogh on January 10, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois and was a dispatcher for the Riverdale, Illinois Police Department. Marilou lived in Mountain Home since moving from Riverdale, in 1990. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, especially quilting, sewing, and needlework. She also enjoyed reading.
Marilou is survived by her son, Scott Balogh of Delphi, IN; two daughters, Carol Balogh of Mountain Home, AR, and Barbara Gustafson of Palos Park, IL; four grandsons, Dylan Connolly, Erik Gustafson, Michael Wohl, and Kevin Horn; three granddaughters, Sarah Buckellew, Jenna Rios, and Jacalyn Graves; many friends; and her pets, dog, Suzie and cats, Marty and Wally. The family wishes to give special thanks to Marilou's friend, Betty Jo Thurman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Kyle.
Burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery, Washington, Illinois.
