A Funeral Service for Marion Billingsley of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Mountain Home, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until time of service at the church.
Marion Billingsley was born September 15th, 1931 in Reader, Arkansas, the firstborn to Gladys and Albert Billingsley. Marion was a real people person - a kind man who could recall the name and face of everyone he ever met. This served him well during his thirty-five years as a customer service engineer with IBM, but his strength, he’d always tell anyone, came from his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He has served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher for many years at First Baptist Church, Mountain Home. Marion Billingsley was devoted to his family: his wife of forty-eight years, Linda; his three siblings Stelle Lacefield (Ike), Norma Norris (James), and Bob Billingsley (George Ann); his children Richard, Timothy, and Dana Runyan (Bruce); his grandchildren Jeremy (Kerri), and Luke (Jessica), and great-granddaughters, Kirsten and Kelsie. On Wednesday, January 20, 2016, Marion Billingsley passed away in his home in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Burial will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Bob, Richard, Timothy, Jeremy and Luke Billingsley and Bruce Runyan as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Dillard, Danny Ponder, John Boogaart, Ike Lacefield and James Norris.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
