Marjorie Lois Scott

A Funeral Service for Marjorie Lois Scott of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, March 16, 2015, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Ken Burton officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 15, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, at the funeral home.

Marjorie passed away March 12, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 93. She was born December 27, 1921, in Joes, Colorado, the daughter of Cloyde Earl and Bernice Irene Porter Laughlin. She married George R. Scott on July 4, 1940, at Mountain Home and was a homemaker. Marjorie lived in Mountain Home since 1937, moving from Kirk, Colorado. She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and Cardinals baseball.

Marjorie is survived by her two sons, Robert "Sonny" Scott and Johnny Ray Scott, two daughters, Linda Farris and Bernice "Sissy" Gibson all of Mountain Home, AR; 11 grandchildren, Sandra, Susan, Scott, Tom, Bill, Bub, Duel, Angie, Jason, Derek and Mandi, 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Jimmy Scott; two sisters and three brothers.

Burial will be in the Douglas Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Scott Gibson, Tom Gibson, Bill Farris, Bub Farris, Duel Farris, Jason Scott and Derek Scott as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Paragould Children's Home.
