A Graveside Service for Alexander "Marty" Adler of Gassville, Arkansas, will be 2:30 pm, Friday, November 8, 2013, at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum Open-Air Chapel, with Reverend David Gadbaw officiating.
Marty passed away November 5, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 91. He was born March 15, 1922, in Marshfield, Wisconsin, the son of Herbert and Margaret Crowell Adler. He married Sylvia Meacham on November 7, 1945, at Waukegan, Illinois and worked in construction. Marty was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Marty lived in Gassville since 2006, moving from LaFeria, Texas. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and whirligigs. He loved dancing, especially square dancing and polkas.
Marty is survived by his wife, Sylvia Adler of Gassville, AR; three sons, Gary (Sharon) Adler of Gassville, AR, Richard (Kathy) Adler of McHenry, IL and David (Leigh) Adler of McHenry, IL; daughter, Patricia (Rick) Raines of Mammoth Spring, AR; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert (Virginia) Adler of Ashland, WI and Stanley (Sharon) Adler of Cumberland, WI and sister, Delores Kanneberg of Rockford, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen Howard, Cyrell Adler, Vivian Salentine and Jane Schickert and brother, Cyrell Adler.
Memorials may be made to the Gassville Therapy and Living Center.
