Marvin Jacobs

Keith died Monday, June 9, 2008 in Mountain Home at the age of 84. He was born Sunday, January 13, 1924 in Shellsburg, Iowa, the son of Harry Cornelius and Esther Bergen Jacobs. He married Helen Janette Roberts on September 26, 1942 at Marion, Iowa and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy (1943-1945) and lived in Lakeview since 1972 moving from Oelwein, Iowa, where he was a Painting Contractor and a private and commercial pilot. He worked for Beaman Realty 14 years. In Iowa he and his family enjoyed boating, swimming, fishing and skiing on the Mississippi River. Here in Arkansas he enjoyed camping, computers, and geneology. He was on the Lakeview Planning and Zoning Commission for 11 years. Survivors: Keith is survived by his wife, Helen Janette Jacobs, son, Gerald (Nancy) K. Jacobs of Bull Shoals, AR, daughter, Jacqueline Crow of Casper, WY, sister, Harriett (Merle) McGrew of Springville, IA, Grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Scanlon of Ferndale, WA and Kenneth (Melanie) Day of Casper, WY, 4 Great-Grandchildren, Michael Xavier and Maureen Scanlon, Sara and Jake Day. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, George, Loren, Ken Jacobs, 1 sister, Barbara Jo Gilpin and 1 grandchild Chuck Day. Funeral: Memorial services for Marvin "Keith" Jacobs of Lakeview, AR, will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Bull Shoals United Methodist Church, with Reverend Nicholas Lascaro officiating. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Bull Shoals United Methodist Church.
