Marvin Leon "Bud" Shaffer

A Memorial Service for Marvin Leon "Bud" Shaffer of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 4:00 pm, Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home, with Heather Marsalis officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 2:00 pm until service time, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Bud passed away October 4, 2018, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 81. He was born February 19, 1937, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Melvin and Helen Downs Shaffer. He married Donna Kelley on July 8, 1978, in St. Louis, Missouri. Bud was a Retired United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. Bud lived in Mountain Home since moving from Florida, in 2006. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge and the Fleet Reserve. He loved to golf.
Bud is survived by his wife, Donna Shaffer of Mountain Home, AR; two sons, Scott (Vicki) Shaffer of Louisville, KY, and Kirby (Tammy) Shaffer of Dallas, GA; daughter, Tammie (Jon) Belcher of Warner Robins, GA; step-son, Robert (Cindy) Ray of Bethalto, IL; eight grandchildren; one step-grandson; and one step-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joan Denney; and a brother, Melvin Shaffer.
