Mrs. Mary Kathryn Bass
August 28, 1930 — February 4, 2014
Mary Kathryn Bass, 83, of Mountain Home passed away February 4, 2014, after a long illness.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jim Bass; her daughters, Deborah Bass of Mountain Home and Susan Finck-Barton and husband Dale of Tyler, Texas and a son, Jim Jr. and wife Sandra of Grand Prairie, TX. She leaves four grandchildren, Angela Hildeson, Nicholas Thomson, Peter Thomson and Mark Finck as well as great-grandson, Caleb Thomson.
Mary was born on August 28, 1930, in Mannsville, Oklahoma. She and her husband owned a successful manufacturer’s representative corporation in Arlington, Texas for many years before retiring to Mountain Home in 1994. She was an avid reader and instilled her three children with a love of learning. Mary’s favorite gifts to her children and friends were books. She will be remembered as a loving and generous wife, mother and grandmother.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the American Cancer Society.
Services will be at a later date.
