Mary Buchowicz

Mary Buchowicz died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at her residence, at the age of 90. Mary was born June 24, 1920 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Mrozowicz Trelka. She married Max Sokol in 1941 in Chicago and after his death in 1964 She married Joseph Buchowicz on February 13, 1971 at Chicago, Illinois. She was a Homemaker. Mary lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas for 10, and Lakeview, Arkansas, for 22 years moving from Chicago, Illinois. She was a member and the former president of the Twin Lakes Area Art Club. She enjoyed being in local art shows and won many ribbons. She lived with her good friend Betty Mounce for the last 4 years. Mary is survived by 1 daughter Carol (Donald) Regul of Mchenry, IL; 1 son Tom (Catherine) Sokol of La Grange, IL; 1 sister Stella Rhylic of Laurel, MD; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and her good friend Betty Mounce. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Trelka, mother, Anna Mrozowicz, 2 husbands, Max Sokol, and Joseph Buchowicz, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
