Mary Engel

Mary Engel was born July 3, 1922 in Chicago, Illionis, the daughter of James A. and Mary J. Pollack Husek. She married John Engel on June 24, 1944 at Lombard, Illinois and was a homemaker. Mary lived in Mountain Home since 1981 moving from Villa Park, Illinois. She was a member of the VFW Auxillary, M.O.P.H. auxillary and Mountain Home Volunteer Fire Department. She traveled the world with her husband, and loved her companion dog, Maggie. Mary entered into eternal rest at her home on March 7, 2009 at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 4 days. Survivors: 1 son, John (Lori) Engel, Jr. of East Moline, IL, 1 daughter, Barbara (David) Peterson of Springfield, IL, 3 grandchildren, John Peterson of Springfield, IL, Jessica Peterson of Chicago, IL and Robert Engel of Kansas City, KS. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her husband, John Engel and 2 brothers, Frank and Jim. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Wednesday, March 18th at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Thursday, March 19, 2009, 10:00 A.M. at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Siegfried Johnson officiating.
