Mary Haaker

Mary Lou Haaker, 94, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, was called to her eternal residence on November 16, 2024. Mary was born on December 30, 1929, in Nashua, lowa. She was the daughter of Leonard and Cleo Eckenrod; and was the youngest girl of nine brothers and sisters.

Mary married Bob Haaker on January 20, 1973, and they shared a happy life together. Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband for many years across the United States and Canada, as Bob played guitar in a Polka band. Mary also enjoyed playing board games and card, listening to music, and having her nails done weekly. She also enjoyed sharing her memories of growing up on a farm in Iowa, and her responsibilities in taking care of the farm animals and her younger siblings.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Cleo; her siblings Don, Bob, Les, Pat, Rich, Jerry, Kenny, and Shirley; and her son Larry. She is survived by her husband Bob and daughter Sandy.

A Celebration of Life service for Mary will be Sunday, December 1, at 9:30am at Twin Lakes Church of the Nazarene. Reverend Johnny Ray Lake will be officiating.
