Mary Joyce Henley Lehman, 92, passed away on September 16, 2018 at home surrounded by loved ones.
Mary was born April 6, 1926 in Nevada County, AR to Ralph and Alvie Henley. Mary and Ralph Lehman, were married on April 17, 1949. She attended First Methodist Church in Mountain Home.
A graduate of St. Vincent School of Nursing. Mary worked as a registered nurse and for many years with her husband Ralph at Lehman’s Home Center in Hope, Arkansas. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and watching birds in her back yard. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals and adopted several dogs from the Humane Society. She was an independent, hardworking, caring, and very giving person. She always enjoyed sharing her baked goods with friends, neighbors, and anybody else that stopped by her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph C. Lehman, Jr; 5 brothers, Norman, Perry, Edgar, Aubrey, and Paul; and 3 sisters, Willodene, Claudia, and Mildred.
She is survived by son, Clay (Lynelle) Lehman of Little Rock; daughter, Peggy Owens of Deltona, FL; 2 grandchildren, Jonathan and Cheryl Owens; and 1 great grandchild.
A Memorial service will be held in Mountain Home at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10 A.M. with Reverend Keith Dodson and Reverend Heather Clawitter officiating. A private family burial will be at Masonic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's honor to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas, 2656 Hwy 201 North, Mountain Home, AR 72653 or the Hospice of the Ozarks, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
