Mary Merkling

A Funeral Mass for Mary A. Merkling of Lakeview, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church with Father Christopher Okeke as Celebrant. Visitation will be Monday, December 17, 2012 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Mary passed away December 13, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 72. She was born January 29, 1940, in Carretta, West Virginia, the daughter of Charles and Missoura Beaver Buchanan. She married Bert Merkling February 15, 1957, at Waukegan, Illinois and was a homemaker. Mary lived in Lakeview, since 1990 moving from Grayslake, Illinois. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Mary is survived by her husband, Lambert "Bert" Merkling of Lakeview, AR, one son, Lawrence "Larry" Merkling of WI, four daughters, Marla (Rich) Muhlig of Grayslake, IL, Melody (Neil) Barbour of McHenry, IL, Margie (Bryon) Carpender of Gageslake, IL and Ashley Merkling of Jonesboro, AR, five sisters, Delores Williams of Ingleside, IL, Joyce Sherwood of Racine, WI, Darlene Fletcher of Round Lake Beach, IL, Jean (Don) Stidum of Hazard, KY and Jerry (John) Lantz of Island Lake, IL, nine grandchildren, Jamie, Jason, Angela, Valerie, Shaun, Jessica, Tiffany, John and Correy and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Marce and Michelle Merkling and two sisters, Trula Kanel and Kay Muhlig. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
