Mary died Tuesday, April 24th at the Hospice House. She was 84. Mary C. Rajan was born June 21, 1922 in Kottayam, South India to Dr. M.P. and Mary Punnen Chacko. She graduated from the Women's Christian College in Madras S. India and then married Dr. K.V. Rajan in 1948 in India. They moved to Washington D.C. and she achieved her master's degree from Howard University. She moved to Mountain Home in 1975 from Hemmett, California. She graduated from the North Arkansas Community College with a nursing degree at the age of 62 as the oldest graduate ever to complete the program. Mary retired in 1985 from the Abraham Medical Center in Mountain Home where she worked as receptionist. Survivors: Mary is survived by one son; Roy Rajan of San Francisco, California, one granddaughter; Lillium (Ted) Pearson and one great granddaughter; June Pearson, both of Seattle, Washington; one daughter-in-law, Sara Rajan of Santa Cruz, CA; one brother; Bishop M.C. Mani (Thankamma) of Kottayam, South India, several nieces and nephews including Dr.Simon and Annie Abraham of Mountain Home. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one Son Dinny, two sisters and three brothers. Funeral: A Funeral Service for Mary C. Rajan, of Mountain Home will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bob Mathis officiating. Burial: India Memorials: Hospice House
