A Funeral Service for Mary E. Voss of Jonesboro, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Kenny Sexton officiating.
Mary passed away November 9, 2014, in Jonesboro at the age of 86. She was born August 16, 1928, in Kentucky, the daughter of Clarence and Daisy Shamwell Gieseke. She married Kenneth Voss on March 3, 1962, in San Diego, CA and worked as a stockroom attendant for GEC-Marconi Electronic Corp. Mary lived in the area since 1992, moving from San Marcos, California. She loved writing, playing the guitar, going out to eat with friends and working with ceramics. Mary was a talented whistler and sounded just like a bird.
Mary is survived by her two brothers, Ellis Ray Gieseke of Calhoun, KY and Hubert Lee Gieseke of Henderson, KY; sister, Daisy Lou Soper of Winter Springs, FL and very close friends, Jerry Yielding Sr., Butch and Janie Yielding, and Josh and Lynn Yielding of Jonesboro, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Vivian Clyde Gieseke and four brothers, Clarence Gieseke, Jr., Earl Gieseke, George Bernard Gieseke Sr. and James Leslie Gieseke and her beloved dogs, Lige and Bandit.
Entombment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, AR,with Bryant, Josh and Jerry Yielding as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas.
