Matthew "Matt" Bryan Palmer, 62, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in Mountain Home, AR. Matt was born on March 21, 1961, in Tulsa, OK, to Joe and Betty Wheeler Palmer. He graduated from Berryhill High School in 1979. Matt went on to pursue his career in law enforcement as a deputy for Tulsa County Sheriff's Office. He married Cherrie (Malone) Perrin on October 8, 1996 in Pigeon Forge, TN. They loved their life together, and always looked forward to the future. They were best friends who deeply loved each other.
Shortly after Matt retired they owned a cattle ranch. It was a family affair. A truly enjoyable time for everyone. They were never afraid to reinvent themselves and about six years ago they made the move to Oakland, AR for some serious walleye fishing. Matt was a fisherman and passed that joy on to his sons. They spent lots of time on the water together. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ and his family. His passage to Heaven eases their burden, even though their loss runs deep.
Matthew is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cherrie Palmer; children, Joseph Palmer, Wesley Palmer, Elizabeth Perrin, William Palmer, Calvin Perrin, and Becky Palmer; brothers, Mark and Scott Palmer; and grandchildren, Peyton, Gage, Silas, Preston, Hunter, George, and Noah.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Joe Palmer.
