Maurice (Andy) Anderson was born on November 13, 1914 in West Liberty, Iowa. He was the son of Paul A. Anderson and Elsie Whitacre Anderson. He married the late Vernelle G. Fairbanks on January 3, 1942 in Ottumwa, Iowa. Mr. Anderson served in the United States Army for four years and was a veteran of World War II. He was a highway patrol officer in Iowa and was owner/operator of a service station in Ottumwa for 21 years. Mr. Anderson moved from Ottumwa, Iowa to Mountain Home, Arkansas, where he has resided since 1974. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge. Mr. Anderson also loved to watch birds, especially blue birds. He was an avid fisherman and bridge player. Maurice (Andy) Anderson passed away on December 16, 2004 at the Gassville Nursing Home in Gassville, Arkansas at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 3 days. Survivors: One son: Maurice W. Anderson Jr. of Bellevue, Iowa; 2 grandchildren: Mark Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska and Mitchell Anderson of Debuque, Iowa; and 1 brother: Jerald Anderson of Cedar Rapid, Iowa Preceded in Death by: His parents and wife Funeral: Memorial Service at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, December 18, 2004 at the Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel.
