Meliss Wolff, 92, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, formerly of North Hills and Wyncote, Pennsylvania, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on February 15, 2009. Mrs. Wolff was a Christian. Born September 24, 1916, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the eldest of 6 children of the late Isaac Vincent Snyder and Melissa (Anderson) Snyder. Mrs. Wolff and her late husband, Robert A. Wolff, moved to Mountain Home in 1994 to be with their only child, Barbara Wolff Chambers and son-in-law, Ralph. She was a devoted and faithful wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was her life. Mrs. Wolff and her husband were world travelers. She was an avid collector of Hummel figurines and her favorite time of the year was the Christmas season having spent every Christmas with her daughter, Barbara, since 1940. She was a longtime member of the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas and often referred to the Society as her "extended family". She participated yearly in the "Baxter County Christmas Wish" with her family and shared with those less fortunate. Survivors: Local survivors include daughter Barbara Wolff Chambers and son-in-law Ralph, niece Bettejean Mahoney Turner and her husband Jay, two surviving brothers, Vincent Snyder of Hatboro, Pennsylvania and Maurice Snyder (Patricia) of Ardsley, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Wolff was preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Snyder of Ardsley, Pennsylvania. She's also suvived by two sisters, Mildred Boeve of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania and Betty Mahoney (Frank) of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Wolff had 2 grandchildren, Lois Chambers Crossman (Peter) and Mark Chambers (Karen) and 5 great grandchildren, Melanie and Emily Crossman, Michelle Chambers Bruneau (Yann), Michael Chambers all of Michigan along with their mother Judy Chambers Bishop. She dearly loved her family including nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral: A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 2:00 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roy Crane and Reverend Ron Rector officiating. Burial: Burial will be in Kriedersville, Pennsylvania, Zion Cemetery, with her devoted husband, Robert and Mr. Wolff's grandparents. Memorials: In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas Thrift Shop Building Fund, 2656 Hwy 201 N., Mountain Home, Arkanas 72653 or Hospice House of the Ozarks. Additional Notes: Mrs. Wolff wished to recognize lifetime friends, Mary Muni and Gerry Bedoskey of Ardsley, Pennsylvania and Mr. and Mrs. Karl Reuther of Culmitz, Germany.She was grateful to local friends Ruth Larsen, Judy Cimbalo, Christina Weber, Jim and Carmen Jankusky, Jeannie and Shyanne Stephens and Cammie Parks who were very kind to her. Hospice House was a blessing to her in her final months.
