Melvin Sands

A Celebration of Life for Melvin J. Sands of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be at a later date. Melvin passed away February 2, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 81. He was born March 1, 1931, in Lebanon, Missouri to Harvey and Mearl Compton Sands. He married Margaret "Liz" Nickel on December 13, 1997, at Las Vegas, Nevada. Melvin was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He lived in Mountain Home since 1998, where he owned Bud's Handyman Service. He was devoted to his wife, his dogs and was a friend to all he met. Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Margaret "Liz" Sands of Mountain Home, AR; daughter Nicole (Lee) Goldstein and their children, Kaitlyn and Riley Goldstein of Naples, Italy; sister Helen Giuliani of Mesa, AZ; several other children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many dear friends including Karl Dasbach, Calvin Glenn and Peggy Sands.
